Check Out Charm City: Weekend Guide

This weekend’s guide will be like a Choose Your Own Adventure book with 2 great events each night.

On Thursday, July 25, you can choose party or choose zen (both happen to be hosted at Museums in Baltimore).

If you choose party, head to the Walters Art Museum where they will be hosting a special Here and Now Party for their Constellation Thursday Night. It goes from 5-9PM and is free. The party will include DJ Jus-Spin and the Mosaic Night Club Cash Bar. Come wander galleries and see two great exhibitions including the Sondheim Artscape Prize Finalists Exhibition and the Site Unseen exhibit by Gregory Vershbow.

If you choose zen, head to the American Visionary Art Museum where Charm City Yoga will be hosting a 45-minute workshop for FREE. Bring your own yoga mat and head to the Jim Rouse Visionary Center on the 3rd floor.

On Friday, you have 2 music options to choose from in Power Plant. You can choose an early 2000’s rock throwback and check out Buckcherry for free as a part of their Friday Night Live series, which includes $2 Miller Lites from 4-7PM. Or you can choose something a little more folky/indie and go see Xaviar Rudd at Rams Head Live.

On Saturday, you can choose Summer Fest or Anniversary Party.

If you choose the summer fun, head back to Power Plant Live for Baltimore’s Big Summer Festival, including live outdoor bands, food trucks like the Gypsy Queen Cafe or Miss Twist, games and sample specialty drinks. Tickets are $30 and entitle you to 5 specialty drinks from 6-9PM. You can cap off your evening in Power Plant with a Citizen Cope show at Rams Head Live.

If you choose anniversary party, head up to Hampden to celebrate Union Craft Brewery’s 1st anniversary! The party includes food from some of Hampden’s best restaurants: Woodberry Kitchen, Birrotecca and The Food Market. There will be music by WTMD’s Scott Mullins who will be hosting The Dirty Soul Party live. To round it off, there will also be art featuring a Globe Poster Show with classic posters of legendary musicians. The brewery will also be releasing two special anniversary brews. The party goes from 7-midnight and costs $20. A great way to support local craft brew and community in Baltimore.

Whatever you choose, have fun this weekend!
